Chicago 2005

Zoe has never been able to explore and hang in a big city before so....
After a couple trips out west and wanting to stay a little closer to home this year,
we decided a short stay in Chicago was in order.

We decided to hit the major tourist attractions first including-

The Museum of Science and Industry.
Where else can you find everything from the Wright Flier to a Boeing 727 hanging from the ceiling?

Tourist Time at S & I

Even one of the Sentinels from the Matrix is there.
(One of our favorite movies at the time.)

Zoe and bud

Nothing like staying at a 5-star hotel while in town.
The Swisshotel (Wacker & Lake Shore Drive) will do.

Tall and shiny

The view from our room on the 35 floor was excellent.
Either watching the floatillas go by on the Chicago river-

Room with a view

Or the fireworks at night at Navy Pier.

(It took Zoe two days to find the hidden but well stocked fridge.)

Bar is open-

Next morning it was off to the Shedd Aquarium.
The new dolphin pool was built so that when you are seated-
it looks like it continues into Lake Michigan.

Pool into Lake

Even nocturnal fish/creatures are on display.

Night fishies

A quick but rainy walk to the Adler Planaterium.
Zoe's hovel is actually full of tiny holes representing the stars in the night sky.

Syn-Stars

Touristas again....

Hmmm....

A stop at Navy Pier and a quick stage show-

Rock'n Roll Star

We decided to take a quick run up and down the lakefront.

Speed on the water

Which gave us this composite of the Chicago skyline.

And another road trip comes to an end.
